About

Knitting and crochet wasn't something passed down to me- they were something I found at a time I needed grounding. I quickly became obsessed and realised crafting wasn't just about making things; it became a powerful way to slow down, reset and reconnect with myself. The process of creating with my hands pulled me out of my head, offering focus and calm. My favourite type of crochet is freeform- so enjoy an attempt of a self-portrait using scrap yarn!

Woollyak is not just a place to buy yarn (though we have plenty!). It's a space where individuality, creativity and community collide. A third space where you can come as you are and make what you want in a way that feels right for you. My sentiment has been that I want to create a safe and enjoyable space.

The journey started with Yarn & Sew, but along the way, I realised I wanted more than just a shop- I want to create an experience. A place where people feel welcome, inspired and part of something bigger. Woollyak is that evolution

Workshops and Socials: Crafting is always better when shared. Our workshops and socials aren't just about learning skills- they're about building connections, sharing ideas, and creating a warm,. supportive community of makers. Whether you're picking up a hook or needle for the first time, or developing your craft for years, you belong here.

At the heart of it all is our commitment to the use of natural fibres because what we make- and how we make it- matters. There is no 'right' or 'wrong' way to craft- only your way. Every stitch supports a mindful approach to textiles.
